AGI - A Gigantic Insect, is a puppet installation in five major parts and a reflection on the opening of Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. “As Gregor Samsa awoke one morning from uneasy dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a gigantic insect”. AGI is that gigantic insect in the form of puppet armour and offers the possibility of interaction with its audience. By providing the possibility of transformation in real time, AGI primarily reifies the abstraction of getting into a ‘new body’ as Kafka’s antagonist does. This theme of transformation in metamorphosis is presented here as a wearable puppet. AGI is made of recyclable materials. The audience is invited to take a photograph with it and see themselves as an AGI.
