The central question of Hearts on Fire, Water Is Boiling Love is not how to eliminate fear, but how we can face it, observe it, embody it, share it, and transform our relationship to it—individually and collectively.

Through body, VOICE, movement, sound, memory, ritual, and relationship, participants search for new, unknown, strange ways of expressing and creating new contexts for being present. Dance is not simply the medium used to present the work; DANCE becomes the form that the relationships created within the laboratory can take.

On the second evening, what has emerged during these two days becomes visible to an audience—not as a finished work brought into the workshop, but as a dance/performance created through the encounter itself.

This Conversation continues a research and dialogue that began in New York with Eric Taylor and his dance company, in relation to the upcoming Hearts on Fire concert. The exploration was less about what dance to create and more about how dance comes into being. Hearts on Fire, Water Is Boiling Love carries that dialogue into another time/space.

Conversations Under the Tree is a continuous artistic project by Karen Hakobian, initiated during documenta 13 within the project And, And, And, and since unfolding in different cities, contexts, and formats. Each Conversation takes another form, creating a space for encounter, dialogue, presence, and the collective creation of autonomous zones.
